# How Dev Toolkit Reviews developer tools and software

## Our method

Every Dev Toolkit guide is built from evidence, not opinion. For each product we compare, we draw on:

- **Manufacturer specifications** — the measurable, verifiable facts: dimensions, materials, capacity, warranty, price.
- **Professional and expert reviews** — what specialists and established publications have independently found.
- **Aggregated, verified owner feedback** — patterns across large volumes of real buyer reviews, so recurring strengths and complaints surface.

Drafts are AI-assisted for speed and then reviewed and edited by a human before publishing. We update guides as products, prices, and availability change.

## What we don't do

We are transparent about our limits so you can weigh our recommendations honestly:

- **We don't fake hands-on testing.** We do not run physical lab tests or invent measurements. When we say a product performs a certain way, it's sourced from specs, expert testing, or owner consensus — and we say so.
- **We are funded by affiliate commissions.** Every product link here is an affiliate link, and if you buy through one this site earns a commission at no extra cost to you. That is a real commercial incentive and you should weigh it against what you read. Coverage also skews toward products that are buyable online, because that is what an affiliate link can point at. What we don't do is take payment from brands: there are no direct brand deals, commission comes from the retailer rather than the manufacturer, and commission rates play no part in the ordering — nothing in our publishing pipeline knows what they are.
- **We don't invent scores.** Our recommendations reflect researched trade-offs, not made-up rating numbers.

## Affiliate disclosure

Dev Toolkit is reader-supported. Some links are affiliate links — including the Amazon Associates program and other affiliate programs — which means we may earn a commission when you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the research. It does **not** change which products we recommend or how we rank them.

## Who publishes Dev Toolkit

Dev Toolkit is an independent review site published by [ManiGinaM, LLC](https://maniginam.dev/), a small independent software and content company. We aren't owned by any manufacturer or retailer, which is what lets us call products the way the evidence points.

## Corrections

Specs change and mistakes happen. If you spot something inaccurate or out of date, we want to fix it — reach the publisher via [maniginam.dev](https://maniginam.dev/) and we'll review it.
